My net recently slowed down dramatically in the past day... I have no idea what happened... could it just be my internet provider? (SBC YAHOO)

I'm running windows xp... 1.5mb connection. My current dl speed is like running on a 56k! It's awful...

Any help or information would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

Are you behind a router?

Maybe a restore point to the day before.

Did you D/L something different in the last 24 hours?

I'm not on a router, and I am quite positive that I did not download anything in the past 24 hours.

I'll give the restore point a try...

My mistake, how far did you go back? I'd try a week if you didn't. One day sometimes does not catch it.

Shut everything down, unplug the router for an hour or so, then first start the modem, let it alone for 15-20 minutes, and restart your computer. Post your speed results. DSL can be strange like that.

I would say yea, callem up. Let us know what they do.  Besides resetting your modem, and making sure that bridging in on, and testing the line.

Oh I had called them yesterday... and I'm suppose to be expecting a call within the next 24 hours, not sure if thats gonna happen since its been almost 20 hours Sad

They did say they were upgrading their "email service/software protection" I assume this is whats causing the lag?

That may may be what's going on. Just try and be patient until they call. Then you'll know more.
