I feel guilty not showing up here more often

I've taken interest in a hobby that I once had interest in years ago when I was a kid watching my dad shave with a safety razor. I am glad I stumbled on the shave tutor channel on youtube.com. After I watched just one video I was hooked and over the span of a couple days I watched them all eagerly. I was fed up with getting inconsistent shaves with an electric shaver and even with modern wet shaving systems like the mach 3, Gillette fusion, and the Schick quattro. If you men are fed up with inconsistent shaves I would encourage you to check out this guy Mark's (aka mantic59's) video channel. It has been a wonderful experience for me about two months in so far. I even have a new hobby of going on antique razor hunts. I've bought two so far from local antique shops. A (late 50's) Gillette flare tip super speed for $2! Then last week I picked up a(1920's) 3 piece Gillette that was in great shape that still had it's case and it came with a vintage brush too (I only use the brush for display) for $5! It's got many benefits for me as I know the satisfaction I get hunting down these old treasures. And the other part is getting very consistent shave for the first time ever. There is nothing like using a brush to generate a warm lather on your face. Oh, I should also mention that I sanitize the vintage razors in barbecide and polish them with maas polish afterwards. Barbecide can even kill HIV so no worries after you sanitize the razor. If you're still a germ-o-phobe no worries you can still purchase brand new de (double-edge safety razors) online from reputable companies like merkur, parker, or weishi. It's a cheaper and greener way to shave as well. The blades are cheaper and biodegradable, the lather from a good shave soap or paste (like C.O. Bigelow, Proraso, Van Der Hagen, and Williams Mug Shave Soap) is safe to rinse down the drain after the shave because there aren't harmful chemicals in these types of products. Compare that to cans of shaving cream that pile up in a dump. That all said, here is a link for those of you who are interested.
http://www.youtube.com/user/mantic59?ob=1 I hope I've helped some of you guys who are looking for something different from their regular shave routine. A little old school never hurts...and for me it's turned into a pleasurable experience as well as a hobby collecting razors (vintage and new), eventually brushes, and other shave products. It can be what you want it to be. If you're happy with your current shave routine then keep things the way they are. That's all, I just wanted to share my new experience with you guys. Oh, and by the way...this can very well be for the ladies too. If you check reviews on some of these razors on amazon like the merkur hd (or heavy duty) for example, you will see some women give praise to the safety razor for helping them with shaving their legs and such. bye for now, Nick
