Charter is very picky on what modem you use. If you use a modem that is not what they provided even though you are legally using it, you are using an unautherised MAC address. This may piss Charter off. I returned my 2nd bad modem supplied by Charter but had went out and gotten the Linksys one and was told that the MAC was unautherized and that they will have to ban it because of it. I purchased the first modem from Charter and am stuck with thier POS. I feel sorry for the person that bought the Linksys I returned back to Wal-Mart. bs
