I went to a local lake today fishing with my boss, and I pulled up something out of the ordinary. What I originally thought was a stick, turned out to be this odd statue thing. It looks like some hindu god of some sort and it felt like it was made of heavy plastic. What is this thing?!

worth any money?  azn

It's  " Ganesha " , it's either good, or bad, you decide !

Someone put it there to get rid of it, but it might bring him more opportunities by removing obsticals Smile

wow, thats quite an article to read, but i see no reason to fear Ganesha, dont think i would worship it either, but i see no reason to be afraid of said idol. but me, im in no way a religious person anyway, dont ask me about G-O-D, my religion is reality.

It's a very popular idol, so maybe he was supposed to find it.   Wonder what the story behind it is, why was it in the lake, who put it there and when.

yeah would be interesting to know the story behind it and how it found its way to the bottom of the lake, but hows that saying go...everything happens for a reason...that is, if you believe in fate and all that...but me, i have a very limited belief system. sorry, not trying to be negative...

Hmmm, sounds like something to bring me good luck, says ......

Ganesha is widely revered as the Remover of Obstacles[10] and more generally as Lord of Beginnings and Lord of Obstacles (Vighnesha, Vighneshvara),[11] patron of arts and sciences, and the deva of intellect and wisdom.[12] He is honoured at the start of rituals and ceremonies and invoked as Patron of Letters during writing sessions.

I do lots of writing, have an obstacle to get over this week and I need all the wisdom I can get.Plus I have a major new beginning coming up soon.... Maybe rub it like a Buddah ??? angel

I ended up leaving it at a hidden spot of the lake, It was all dirty and full of water. I asked a hindu friend of mine and he said its extremely common in that area, and that park is full of, well let's say hindu's. Someone probably had a big party and had them as table decorations or something  cheesy

and coknuk I never thought of that hahaha
