I run chrome and firefox browsers. I can get download speeds up to 14Mbps on chrome and only 1.7 Mbps on Firefox. On my second computer I get equivalent download speed for both browsers. Any thoughts on the wide discrepancy between the browsers? The primary machine I use is a dell latitude D600.

I am going to ask a dumb one. Have you tried this? It almost sounds like a dirty and cluttered browser.

Thanks that helped a little. I am up to 2.1 Mbps for downloads. I use the comodo internet security (firewall,anti-virus and malware) as well as superantispyware and ccleaner.
