My upload wasnt as good intill Van helped me tweak it so its better now i think it was 0.4 before the tweak so all you rcn user not using cablenut you should try it out Smile

ya, lol trust me that was jsut a good test there lol, Not really as stable as it should be i think, but if you think about it, if it were 5 or what not we would be gettign 2 Mbps lol, so having 10 and getting 5 or 6 Mbps works out good lol

Sad Well, after lurking around here for a few weeks, I finally decided I had to join the ranks! But this problem should really be directed to Van. I've tried just about every tweak advertised in here, Net Optimizer, CableNut, manual tweaks, all to no avail. This latest one posted here...

is after using the CableNut OOL 10000 1000.ccs. I used be really happy with the 157x faster than 56kb dial-up. But, I can't even get close to that anymore. Van, any suggestions?

if you used to get good speed with the settings, then its not a problem with them.

try to remember what you did when speed went down

did you install any driver etc...

also test other speedtests, if you get good speed on them it most likely a problem in your route to testmy.net

also change your LAN wire between modem and PC, sometimes those can get damaged

Although this actually is slower on the D/L side than previous tweaks, I've reached a happy medium, and I'll just have to go with it. I know RCN can be faster up & down, but I can't tweak anymore, it's driving me CrAzY!  idiot2 Unless Eagle would like to share his secret to those profound numbers, that is? How 'bout posting your Cablenut file for us RCN users and let us see what you did to achieve those AWESOME stats!?  azn

Ok, just out of curiousity, I used Speed Guide Optimizer to find my accurate latency, then made a new custom ccs file, applied it and got these results...

I think I'm just going to be satisfied with the settings for now!  grin
