a question for you... is that dotted border absolutely necessary?  as soon as the border is gone, everything is fine... i have tried many things too, nothing has worked... i wonder if its a error in firefox itself?
if you still want the border, i'll keep working at it...

alternatively, keep the border and drop the art class width property, the box will be wider, but its centered...
