ok, so yeah, those are my specs, I want to know if it's possible to overclock a pentium 2 MMX. To tell you the truth, I really don't know what I'm talking about, but I guess I'll learn as people reply to this topic. I just heard about overclocking, and It seems interesting. Do I need to have any hardware or anything I need to buy? how is it done?

thanks!!!  Very Happy

Pentium 2, ?? GHz

Therein lies your problem. You have what is referred to as an outdated (antique) system. If the processor is a Pentium II, trust me when I say your speed  won't end in "GHz".

So I'm guessing if you really really wanted to overclock your system you could gain 2 extra mGHz. which would be pointless  ;). I vote for overclocking it to 3 GHz so it dies and you get a new system. HAHA!

You probably have proprietary BIOS from a manufacture that will impede your ability to over-clock your system (which would be rather pointless anyway).
64MB of RAM really won’t cut it anymore (you can find RAM rather cheap if you really want to buy some).
Which Windows are you running at the moment?
What brand and model of system do you have?

I can help you tweak your Windows so that it runs quick on your limited hardware.  angry3

Hopefully you are running at least a Pentium 2 400MHz and above.
You can buy a 128MB PC100 stick of RAM for around $15.

Depending on the motherboard, there might be something you can do.
I took a ASUS Slot  1 Motherboard, put in a Pentium 3 flip chip for  850MHz,
overclocked it to 875MHz, added a lot of memory and it made a big
difference, not as fast a new computer, but an improvement.
