By the way your query was the same as mine. Which ISP are you using?

About your query most ISPs have blocked the incoming ports to limit the downloads  angry5 and for security reasons. You could try the following;
1) If you have a firewall enabled, try disabling it and then running the torrent
2) Try finding open ports that could be used for incoming connection.
3) I am trying to find softwares available to find open incoming ports. Otherwise you can use Azureus NAT/firewall test to manually Sad find incoming ports. After I lot of Hard work I could find 5-6 open ports for my ISP.
4) Lastly you can call the ISPs customer service and ask them which ports have been kept open or ask them to forward some ports.

Bye..

well there is a easy way out. juz call ur isp and get ur ports opened (most likely 6881-6999). . india must be be most backward in terms of speed. the max available is 512Kbps . and there is a catch in every package.
        the common catch is the speed . i.e the most standard speed 64 Kbps is actually 64Kbps dwnld speed . 64Kbps= 48Kbps dwnld +16Kbps upload.
     and the quality of service is so gud that i dont hav net conn for atleast 5 days a month.
    thn adding to my woes . there is juz 1 operator in my locality. i.e a MONOPOLY ,  so i cannot even argue with him . i pay Rs 800 ($18.18) for a 64Kbps connection.
a rainy day and my net goes berserk for 2-3 days. neways the government of AP proposed a hi-speed broadband (around 10Mbps) each connection to be finished by feb 2006. but who trusts the government. the project may be scraped mid-way.

switched from dialup to broadband, trying SIFY cable which hurt as speed varied, tried VSNL direct broadband and got download/upload of 103/129 Kbps instead of the promised max 512 Kbps. can we do better? when? this week, month, year, decade, century?

hey dude,  t
        ake it easy. dont hope for the broadband scene to improve  over 1Mbps for atleast 2 yrs.
   on the lighter side u guys should learn about DDoS attacks.
   i get speeds of around 7-8 Mbps wenever my isp's server is down. ofcourse 10Mbps would be the max limit as max transfer rate for the indian LAN card is juz 10Mbps. i get this sort of speed once in 2 months and if very lucky once in a month. DDoS attack is a very efficient way of bringing down ur isp server. but never tried it. ne ways right now in hyderabad some operators r coming out with plans upto 512Kbps with UNLMTD usage. at present all 512Kbps plans r limited .
