The Chicago, IL mirror testing server is the closest one and I am getting the great speed below from it.

Connection is:: 80054 Kbps about 80.1 Mbps (tested with 1075 kB)
Download Speed is:: 9772 kB/s
Tested From:: http://twistedpc.us
Test Time:: 
Bottom Line:: 1430X faster than 56K 1MB download in 0.1 sec
Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 2992.08 % faster than the average for host (charter-stl.com)

This was tested on my new Dell Latitude 110L featuring a Pentium-M 1.6GHz  processor, using the Dell Wireless 1350 miniPCI (b/g). I was using the the wireless router in my signature. I have been downloading driver updates from Dell at 5MB/s.

thats a cached result damnt.. i lost my speed test files.. noone will provide them to me

So that explains it.  thumbsup Anyways, I have been downloading very fast lately. I had one of the downloaded files from Dell start out  at 7MB/S using Mozilla so something is up with my connection to my brand new laptop.

I see the reply dates, but dlewis23 must of had a brain fart today, no offense. ;)

In reply to indestructable: I have tried, but have never been able to simulate a cached test myself.
I couldn't do it if I wanted to.

Intentionally doing cached tests can throw off the speed averages... especially if a bunch of people do them...
