Is that a little easier to overclock? I don't want to light the thing on fire, or blow it up, but I would like to make it run faster...I don't have much money for more RAM either. Let me know what you guys think, Whatever you can do is great.
Anymore info? By all means, let me know, I got it!
thanks all

I would start with this site; it should be easy enough to follow.

Don't overclock it (the HT)... it's fast enough. Myself, I haven't overclocked anything for more than a few minutes (as a test... messing around) since my 1 gen Celeron 333 [1996 or some crap] (overclocked to 666 - my name is Damon, I had to do it) Once chips started getting fast enough in my opinion it wasn't worth it anymore. I have an athlon 3000+ (running at 2.17 GHz). Now what's difference is it really going to make if I overclock it to say 2.4 or 2.6 GHz 10.5 to 19.8% --- and heat my chip up from a very cool 102*F (38.9*C)
[Thermaltake rules
THERMALTAKE Silent PurePower 410
PSU,
THERMALTAKE Tsunami
and a
Video card cooler
(not my exact vc cooler but you get my drift) they keep my s$#% pretty damn cool, even under load]
----- up to 117*F(47*C) or more, I'd rather be a little slower and keep my stability any day
By the way, are Dual Core Intel chips out yet? Can I friggen upgrade yet and sell one of you guys some of my old stuff

You know man, you really shouldn't give out your name on a public message board.
I'd still like to do it, just a little even, maybe to about 3.2 or 3.4 GHz, is that a lot? is it even possible?

Exactly. As long as you're over 13, it's your business if you want to give out your name on the 'net or not.

I have a P4 3.0 (HT) overclocked to 3.31 GHz, no problems. Was VERY easy with my ASUS motherboard.

make sure if u going to overclock u got plenty of fans and air circulating as well as a powerfull enough heat sink
last thing u want is to be able to overclock it and fry it ok
i cant do it on my laptop cause i would actually just melt the case
hot enough running folding

3.0 to 3.31 isn’t a vast increase and even with a slim 10% increase you’ll need more cooling. When you want to over-clock anything cooling is the basic element. Tweaking your operating system should be looked into first then slowly build your knowledge into hardware.
