FYI -- from an email I received today:

Cox Communications is thrilled to announce that starting in June 2005, we will begin increasing the speeds of our Premier Internet Package to 15 Mbps downstream. This increased bandwidth will give you even more capacity for all your Internet needs. That means you’ll download media rich applications faster than ever, send large files super-quick, and gain the upper hand on gaming opponents before they know what hit them!

Cox is offering a free modem exchange, too.  They will provide a Scientific Atlanta cable modem capable of handling the new speeds.  I don't have the upgraded version yet.  Cox claims they'll distribute new cable modems by 6/30.

I believe they are only doing the 15/2 in areas that offer FIOS. Cox is fighting fire with fire in Virginia.

Arizona has upgraded to 9000/1000 already. Cox is doing their thing.

Nice!, The Scientific Atlanta Cable Modem is a extremely good modem, I have one.

I believe it will be 5 dollars more than the Verizon FiOS 15/2 service, so 54.95 I believe. :ar15: Fighting fire with fire.

they probably wont for a while since they just did, but adelphia is releasing the new tiers soon and if you have adelphia and are going to Comcast like i am, then consider it an 'upgrade' of sorts.
