Seems that it will get a long time to Adelphia in PR have those speeds, here we get 4Mb at a most, anyway competition is far behind in 1024Mb DSL

Anyone wondering (i doubt it by now) what the actual sync rates are with the 256QAM upgrades for the extreme service.... they are:

19300Kbps Down
2410Kbps Up.

Lots of room for overhead there.

I have the premier service and was using a surfboard 3100. I went out and purchased surfboard 5120 and my speed double just by upgrading to newer modem.

Welcome to the best boards on the net slider8969. Very Happy Enjoy your stay.

You definitely did the right thing. The SB3100 can't keep up with anything over 7.3Mbps.

However, the SB4200 performs well with updated firmware, but I still would want a SB5100 or better being that they are DOCSIS 2.0 certified. SB3100/SB4200 are not. Sad

I was chatting with support yesterday and he stated to me that within a year or so it would spread to Ohio(northwest ohio), but it would only be available to commercial customers at first, and it is taking the place of the current 6.0/768 plan.

Unless Fios is in your neighborhood. dont count on it. both of those cities mentioned have Fios, hence the extreme tier

I'm in Temecula (92591) and we received notices about Extreme two days ago - I had an old SB4200 that I swapped for a RCA425. Speeds are better than the 4200 but not 16Mbps. My upload speeds are past 2Mbps but downloads are barely 6Mbps (compared to the 3Mbps I was getting before).

I think I need to perform some tweaking on my end...will try and report back.
