Verizon is 15/2. That 1 meg bump isn't going to make much difference, especially on Adelphia's network. in most areas. They can't deliver their basic speeds here where I live. My sister has them in PA, her services suks too. True, I have friends who have Adelphia and their service is stellar, but get only what you can get, very dependant on their old network with bad splices.
just my bias opinion...lol

I'm in Pa and in my area Adelphia is rock solid . I've always exceeded my cap whether its prime time or 3am . I'll just wait it out and hopefully I'll get the extreme tier some day too

Yup...I know. A friend of mine just a couple of blocks from here gets great connections with Adelphia. Thing is tho with these guys, they want to blame YOUR system and check their lines last. And even when there is a problem they know about, they won't own up to it. The Adelphia tech told me that the lines in my neighborhood were trash and that I would never be able to realize a steady basic level connection, let alone the premier I was paying for.
I hope they do roll out the extreme service to everyone, and not just in markets where they have FiOS competition.....and right now, that is only in Leesburg, VA...where Verizon has piped fiber to every building in the town. Adelphia was THE ONLY choice here, except for some very expensive wireless. Verizon is steadily eating away at their customer base.

Amen, brother... The first technician who came to my residence to investigate my low-speed complaint told me the cables in my area would never support anything higher than 1 Mbps. He further said Adelphia was going to get into trouble for advertising speeds higher than that. After some fixes on my part, some on Adelphia's part, and a lot of aggravation, I finally got speeds at or near the top of my range for Preferred service. Adelphia never said what the problem was on their side. All the time the fight was going on, a nearby neighbor was getting speeds near the top of his Premier service.

I just got off the phone with Adelphia, they told me, eventually, it will be everywhere. If you have the premier speeds now, when your area recieve the updrade, you will be automatically bumped to the extreme speeds. The areas that have it now, are the areas listed on the Where page AND Bethel Park, PA(outside Pittsburgh). Within the next month, it will be going to parts of maine. Other than that, i don't know more.

It'll likely never get to the West Coast. Pity for me.

dont be suprized if it shows up in the comming weeks if not couple months... Recently my basic crap line from adelphia bumped to a 8mbit down 1mbit up for about 2 weeks, then returned to normal. This doesnt just happen out of no where for just fun at all times of day it never left its speeds. On another note if you click its domain you will see others in there area testing speeds in excess of 15mbit down and almost hitting its 2mbit up. Everyone just be patient, West Coast it shal come! I honestly believe they will start in southern california and move up. If you want screens of my speed tests at the time just ask and I'll post them!
