Me again, well I got my Graphics card maxed out at 277 mhrz clock speed and 456 memory. (default was 250 and 400, hehe.)

Using a driver update for Nvidia that used the latest drivers with an auto overclocking program that could find the exact optimum settings for my card from guru3d.

That roughly translated to a 60 fps to 75 fps improvement in HL! My max refresh rate is 75 for the monitor!  :haha:

So, here's my question... Got it in CPU form for Intel?  ;)

I was wondering if there was a program that would optimize overclocking with an Intel Celeron CPU similar to that driver.

Thanks!

The program in you Smile

I don't think 1 exists because every chip OC's different. You might get a10% OC no problem on 1 celeron and than on another it might crash or not boot at a 10% OC. There are programs that you can OC through but they don't auto OC based on your chip. ;)

OCing is an Art not a science. Patience and baby steps are your friend. ;)

Compaq’s usually have proprietary BIOS and you cannot do much with.

Speaking of BIOS, any idea where I can find the flash upgrade for it?

Compaq is crap in that field.

Buy  your parts  from www.newegg.com     . I can get an AMD Athlon 64 2800+ , motherboard,  video card, and case   for about $300-$350     . And  you can overclock  the processor  to an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ with no problem.

Okay, I don't get this.

Ever since I've overclocked my GPU there were funky textures in my game Half-Life : Natural-Selection.

So naturally, I defaulted out and stopped.

They're still there, however! If I try to play any other game, such as Battlefield 2, Guild Wars, Rose Online, or even the original Half-Life, it's all fine!

Could it just be some corrupt textures?

Everything plays perfectly, and I'm still playing at perfect fps now with apsolutely no problems.

Except for that little bug with Half-Life 2 where it says you need to upgrade your version of DirectX that came with the latest firmware from Nvidia of course.

Abnormal textures include only random black spots near edges of the texture and they stay there even if I leave and come back.

When stuff in your games appear different than usual/weird then that probably means you should "down clock" a little bit to prevent any damage to your video card.

I just said I defaulted out, aka no overclocking, no added settings, no nothing.

Re-install the game, sounds like corrupted texture files Smile I have had the same thing happen with desert combat and a re-install fixed it.

Well, I simply reinstalled the textures, that was no deal.  Neutral
