After a year on the Pro, I couldn't take it. My speed continued to remain at the Express level. I changed my ISP to DSL Extreme.  Now I get 2700kps.(2.7mb)

My predicament, as well as all of yours, how to deal with SBC and the money they swindled from me...and you?

that happens when you are too far from the CO and also because SBC/AT&T does not over cap there 6mb plan.

I have DSL Elite, and had a number of problems when it was first switched on. I had 3 calls to tech support in India, where they told me to do the same things I was doing on my own. Then, I'd get escalated to a level 2, here in the states, and those guys were awesome. Ran diagnostics, and scheduled a tech to come out to my house. He gets the full bandwidth from the central office to my house, and here I get the following stats:

::::::::::.. Download Stats ..::::::::::
Download Connection is:: 5109 Kbps about 5.11 Mbps (tested with 5983 kB)
Download Speed is:: 624 kB/s
Tested From:: http://testmy.net/ (Server 1)
Test Time:: 2006/08/31 - 9:02am
Bottom Line:: 89X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 1.64 sec
Tested from a 5983 kB file and took 9.594 seconds to complete
Download Diagnosis:: Awesome! 20% + : 83.25 % faster than the average for host (sbcglobal.net)

I've gotten better scores, late at night of course, but I really have no complaints at this point in time. When the guy came out to my house, he essentially changed my box so that I didn't need a filter anymore (house was wired for 2 line phones, and just put the dsl on one of the two twisted pairs). He also replaced my line from the house to the pole, and all of my intermittant connection problems were fixed. What really blew the guy away was the internal network I have in my home. It's a little more than what he's used to seeing, I think.
