Bottom Line:: 7X faster than 56K 1MB download in 22.76 sec

My download speed is so slow about 16% of average..... I'm using Charter Pipeline with Windows XP Professional, SP2  DELL
Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4CPU 1.60GHz
1.59 GHz, 256MB of RAM 

My zip is 91802 living in Los Angeles County; California.

I'm paying like a lot of money per month which is freakin expensive for me to shell out!!!!!!! YIKES!

PLEASE HELP ME ............

hello in a seperate topic you posted you pay $29.99/month  which indicates to me that you are paying for the lowest speed tier of service.

if you are indeed paying for the lowest speed tier (commonly 384kbit/128kbit),  to me those speeds look good.
you'll need to upgrade your service to get faster ;)

Qwest has a deal right now for 5 meg dsl for $29! for a whole year. Free modem rental / installation too. If you're not happy with your speeds I suggest trying them.

Charter may have accidentally provisioned your modem for the lower tier 384/128. I receive 3/256 for $29.95 (few months left on the promotion).  Call Charter and check.
