Hears a list of the final download speeds for the bellsouth upgrade comming this fall.
Lite : 1.5Mbps
Utlra: 3.0Mbps
Xtream 6.0Mbps
According to my source at bellsouth, there may be a 4th package with speeds of 9Mbps.but this is most likely not going to happen because bellsouth will be upgrading there entire network to be compattable with ADSL2 and ADSL2+ so they can bring IPTV to the masses, at 34-50Mbps.

your source STILL can't get it right, although he's getting closer than he was with that ridiculous June post of yours. Here's the deal, it's not a secret.
Lite: 256k
Ultra: 1.5meg
Xtreme 3.0: 3meg
Xtreme 6.0: 6meg

Right, for Ultra. Which is and will stay at 1.5meg, not 3Meg like your post above says.

why would they get rid of it, it is a good plan for the people who just want something a little faster for their usual browsing. Mostly older people and the such.

they were going to get rid of it because no one has it. Only about 3% of bellsouth DSL Customers have DSL Lite 256Kbps. most have the extreme 3.0. Its really not much faster then dial-up, and thats why bellsouth put it their in the first place to try and get people off there dial-up service so they can get rid of that in the next year. They also need to get rid of these slow plans so they can push ADSL2/ADSL2+ at very high speeds. 20Mbps+

DLewis, every post of yours I've read has been just as wrong as it can be and this one's no exception. DSL Lite is a VERY big seller for BellSouth. Xtreme 3.0 is NOT the biggest seller by far. There is absolutely no need to get rid of one speed plan "so they can push ADSL2/ADSL2+". It's not like you can't have them both.
And to repeat, there was never any plan for BellSouth to get rid of DSL lite except maybe in your imagination.
Do you just make this stuff up, or what?
