something is happening on PR. because all my friends are having the same problems, even me >=o
and we pay 55 bucks for 1 month and its not premier... =(
since theres not much competition they can do whatever they want.

 learn to wait , you got 3MB to 4MB for a long time , a day of problem is nothing. and youre just getting 64k NOW! , but before yesterday you were getting far far more , so learn to wait , a day without your porn isnt going to hurt your little friend. Y si no entendistes , aprende a esperar , que desde hace meses estas recibiendo de 3 a 4MB , un solo dia y te quejas , con eso es suficiente para hacer browsing , si quieres jugar juega offline , ya si pasa mas de 3 dias uno se queja. DMAX es lo peor que le ha pasado a PR. |

The problem with the ping issues and slow dl in PR have not only been going on for the last couple of days, IT HAS BEEN FOR MONTHS!!!!! Almost nightly (high traffice times) the ping goes to crap. Locally they always say the problem is in Miami. Well what takes them so long to find and correct the problem.. Adelphia is a large company and should have the resources to crrect the problem. When I trace my route I go from PR to miami to dallas to chicago to yorkstown to montreal back down to washington on this particular server that I like. That doesn't seem to be a very good routing. I used to be with Liberty and their cable service was EXCELLENT!!!! Never had ping issuses. Have been with Adelphia past 8 nths since moving and has been nothing but problems. I am about to tell them to take their service and shove it where the sun don't shine... They only reason I haven't yet is because when it works it is very fast.

one of the problems: all traffic from pr routed through miami because of the physical layout. (seacable).
other problem: miami is itself a high fdensity area, meaning it has to carry the local load plus the load from pr.
aggravating that is the fact that adelphia pr is not really part of adelphia, it is a seperate entity etc.

Esto es ahora, domingo a las 11:45AM, después de hablar con el servicio técnico, desconectar el módem un minuto, intentar todo y nada... además no es la primera vez... Por cierto, yo nunca conseguí 4MB, lo más 3.8 y hubo una semanita o dos cuando acababa de contratar el servicio que andaban igual de mal que ahora. El servicio técnico me reconoció que tenían el cable submarino saturado en horas punta y tenían que contratar más ancho de banda; supongo que ahora será igual... Estos problemas hay que prevenirlos sin esperar a que revienten y cuando se acerca la saturación no seguir sobrevendiendo alegremente una capacidad que no tienen. ¿o no?
Translation.: This test is sunday at 11:45AM, after talking to tech support and unplugging the modem for one minute, trying all and no way... and it isn't the first time... By the way, I never got 4MB, at most 3.8 and there was a week or two just after subscribing to adelphia when it was as bad as now. Tech support accepted the seacable was overcharged on peak hours and they were trying to buy more bandwidth; I guess it's the same again... These problems have to be prevented before they explode and as the line approaches saturation they shouldn't go on happily overselling a capacity they lack ¿don't you think so?

Adelphia just recently bought nore bandwidth and even changed the backbone provider (supposedly). This was suppsoed to resolve the problem but apparetnly hasn't

VanBuren right. but if you expect /every/ pr adelphia customer to do so, fuggedaboudit. the public schools here suck the big one, half the kids don't even know they're US citizens, and the number of people here that don't speak english is scary. probably more people (percentagewise) in europe literate in english than here. |

Everybody has problems witht their connections now and then. I'm an Adelphia subscriber and I was having speed issues for a couple months. Look in earlier threads and you might be able to find some of my old tests. Point is: It'll be ironed out sometime. Whether sooner or later; it's like anything else...50/50. Unfortunately you got later. If I were you, I'd keep calling Tech support even if you don't want to and RECORD the date/time you talked with them. Then after the problem is fixed, call accounting and ask for an adjustment on your next bill. They'll probably take $15-20 off.

I want to apologize  about the use of Spanish language in my post, but.. I'm Spanish (from SPAIN), living here in PR just from January of this year, and my knowledge of the English language is -at this time- not good enough for some technical explanations. Sorry, guys. |
