...I am in FL right now, on a vacation, and my friend still suffers by surfing (if you wanna call that surfing) the net via AOL - i am trying to persuade her into switching to DSL - her phone number does not qualify for Yahoo SBC, but I have an OK for verizon dsl. Their advertisement says she will be gettting 1st three months for 19.95 and every other month for 29.95 (with a one year contract) ... what kind of speeds should i expect with that package in FL - anybody knows ? Reliability ? Is there a better ISP for that kind of money in FL (St Petersburg/Tampa) ? Also, does the price after a 12 month contract stay 29.95 or does it increase/decrease.... Any help is very welcome ;) Thank you  ! |

I live in Tampa and i get speeds up to 1.5dl and 384ul........if u live close enough to co then u may be able to get 3/768......i highly recommend verizon dsl!!!!!

It will increase to 37.95 but just renew contract and price will stay the same....

u could call tech support and let them test ur line to see wat plan will work...or email....i emailed bout 3/768 but i was too far from co

and also...will they alow us to renew the contract ? wouldnt they kind of consider it fraud - cuz it would be cheating them ? or you can actually renew the contract without them suspecting anything....you know what i mean but i guess it does make sense to have it cheaper if you renew the contract, since they would rather have a customer for 3 years paying 29 than a customer for 1.5 year paying 37 |

well.....she lives in an apartment and i dont think fios is available there, and plus she does not want to spend that much money on that

Theirs so many people with Verizon DSL living where I live....even though DSL isnt SUPOSED to fluxuate, it does...gets down to about 1.2 around 5-10pm and my dad isnt smart enough to re-new it, so he's paying 37.99 a month....err w/e not my $ and i think he's switching to Comcast cable  |

If you live in Tampa check again, because we're running on 3MBs package on full power, yea... That's right I test for 2.8-2.9MBs sometimes instead of the usual 2.7crap.  My upload is over the cap, I'll post soon enough. |

just for the hack of it ... i thoguht id update the verizon people that my friend has finally gotten verizon dsl up and running (yesterday) - and it looks very promising.... 2.8 download and half a mb for upload very good |
