I had the 3360/768 connection and was just downgraded to 3200/608. Why do they do this, is it because available bandwidth that verizon has or something, is this how the regulate their system. And does this happen often.

It's not them, it's you. You're cap is off, you should be getting 3.0MB/s/786kB/s.

Don't complain about it when you're still above the cap.  angry3

btw, the DSL line is only shared with up to 4 people while the cable lines are like shared with everyone.

No, i know what my cap is, my cap was 3360/768, but now they changed my cap to 3200/608.  When i was on 3360/768 my actual speeds were about 2900/710, but since my caps are lower, my actual speeds now r like 2750/680.

Well i guess it just decided to "fluxuate" again because now my caps are up to 3360/864 which is the highest upload speed i've ever had from dsl.

The actual caps should be something like that if your PPPoE to allow for that overhead and just for standard tcp/icp overhead.

That could also be flucuation from your noise margin not being high enough to support the full speed package and/or internal line condition.  From what you're showing it could be that you are right at the limits of the 3 meg service.
