If you're on transponder 1350, then that is your problem.  Ive seen countless posts about erratic speeds on that frequency.  It will take a while for dway to acknowledge the problem and fix it.  Maybe next year when Skyterra takes over the brand, things will change as far as that kinda stuff goes.

the fap is one reason why it might be worth it to upgrade to a higher package with dway. the fap is a fair access policy put in place by dway and other sat isps because they do not have the capacity to supply everyone with high speed all the time. so they give you a chunk of a few hundred megs (this is dependant on your package.) that you can download at high speed. if you exceed this chunk in a certain amount of time (iirc 4 or 5 hours with dway) you get slowed down to dialup speed. then after 8 to 24 hours you get assigned another chunk. if you dl say 50 megs of the chunk and then do nothing for a while the chunk refills itself at a rate determined by your package.
generally the amount given to you at high speed should be enough for simple surfing at higher than dialup speed, but you need to be careful when download a lot of stuff since that will put you over the chunk and cause you to get slowed down.

I've had DW for over a year and it has been the same speed ...with the tweeks amd all ...cant seem to get it any faster....dl really sux ass!! angry5

Well, on the Pro plan, you are promised up to 1.0Mbps.  You are getting about 1.2.  You are getting what you pay for.  Try using the 579KB file.  You will see speeds like that if you get an initial burst.
