Hey there,

I just installed Windows XP on my friends computer which he has a broadband modem (HP EN1207D-TX PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter) Now (after win xp installation) it says the connectivity might be limited or lost and cannot connect to the internet? Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thank you in advance

i take it thge modem has properly synced with his isp.
you might need to go into ie/tools/internet options/connections/lan settings and check the autodetect box. if that doesn't work, check to make sure the link indicator on modem and comp are both on, if they are, try a different cable. post your results for further help.

Yup what resopalrabotnick said should help you out..if not go to cmd prompt and type ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew
If not..then maybe its something with the cable,or the ethernet card itself.

BTW...sometimes these things happen when a new OS gets installed...the hardware and software dont seem to sync...learned that in school :haha:
