I have been on SB for 2 years now and am currently on the 481 Telecommuter. 768 - 100 aimed at AMC 4 ( I know, everybody is supposed to be on IA7, we've been through all that and it is supposed to be fine)..
I have good days and bad days. I have seen 70kbs and I have seen days where pages won't even load. Well, I finally decided to call tech over it. After a 1 hour wait  Confused we went through the standard routine, including a speed test here (which is what they recommend). My first speed test using Firefox showed up at something like 39Mbps. Of course that can't be right so I did a re-test. "Sorry, your connection has exceeded the maximum speed of our test(60Mbps) with a reading of 97Mbps. Please use our flat file test and disable..." Don't have any accelerator and the only thing like it (pipelining) I disabled. I still got unholy speeds. Well, now to today. I did some rechecking and and saved some of the results. Now, the flat file tests come out at a more realistic speed (500Kbps) so I think there is some incompatibility with the basic tests.
I don't think 29.7Mbps is even possible through my system. Anyway, it has given me so much trouble that I have been seriously thinking about going to the expense and hassle to install my own 5.8GHz Canopy link to hook into my local WISP. The reason I haven't done it yet is it will be two stages with a repeater in the middle. 17mi. + 3mi. Shocked One of these day SB may just drive me too it..

Not really sure what your question is, sounds more like a rant.

But I just did this test on a 360 modem:
