Though I've gotten a few slow tests on the down lately, I pretty much get the 3/256 I pay for most of the time. I hear Charter is already testing a new 5mbit package in certain areas. I can't wait until it goes nationwide.

You should feel fortunate. I recently upgraded to 3 meg and have yet to acheive it. Very few in my area using Charter. When I was on 1.5 I always got faster than that but now I can not get to 3.

5mbit?
I'm assuming the Upload should be faster as well... cause 256Kbps just isn't cutting it for me

I know this is a little late, but, if you're talking to me, I read it on a forum a while back. They cited their sources, so I'm pretty sure it's true. Right now, I can't remember which forum I read it on, what exactly was said about it, or what sites he cited. So I can't give anyone much of an update on how it may or may not be going.

My speeds with charter used to be great; I'd get 3.3mb with their 3mb service. But now, I am getting 1.98mb. I called and complained, the tech told me my signal levels looked good. They are sending a tech out to my house because clearly something is wrong. The tech mentioned it was possibly my computer, but I don't think that is the reason. Anyway I'll find out tomorrow. It would be nice to have 3mb speeds again lol. ;)
