Now the switch in power from Adelphia to "Community Operations" as they call themselves...Zitomedia in my area...has taken place, servers are overloaded. Its unreal, my neighbors Verizon DSL doesnt have as much lag when their lines are full. Pings went from around 50ms to well over 100, hitting 175 at times. Tonight things have gotten better so they must be working on the servers, but for the last 2 days its been a couple telcove servers overloaded.

IMO, anything that any of the Rigas boys get ahold of goes to hell. When the Rigas family pulled out things were good. Now that John and Tim are in and out of jail, Mike gets his hands back in the game. Worse yet John,Tim, Mike and James are all in it. I just hope things get better. I understand the switch, but using telcove servers sucks. They (telcoves servers)have been at capacity for awhile, but they have been trying to expand on limited funds. The first week on the switch, everyone I know who has zitomedia got hammered with spam from a Verizon user in VA. I asked some friends who worked at Adelphia and went with Zitomedia what was up and they said everyones scrambling to get the new system in place, but they are having problems with the servers(like we couldnt tell) and the switch is gonna take longer than expected( February maybe). Anyone else having problems with their local group and think its BS?

We used Adelphia at work for a couple of years as are ISP and at first it was great. After awhile we started having problems staying up which related to problems from the rest of the work force to me..seems they stay online more that they sell cars Very Happy
As far as I can see the local Adelphia is still Adelphia I havent seen any personell change or no different marking on the trucks.

I have a couple of friends that are still on Adelphia here at theirs is doing fine.

We switched to Sprint HSD at work and lost better than 1/2 the speed but a little less downtime with this.
I dont really know who is taking over in this area but have heard lots of different speculations

My only grief with Adelphia is that they haven't rolled out the Extreme service here yet. News to Adelphia...if Verizon's FiOS is here first - goodbye Adelphia!!!

Color me dumb, but I don't know anything about switches in power to "community Operations".  Further, I thought the "Rigas boys" were out of the picture because of their legal problems, the bankruptcy, and the purchase of Adelphia by Time-Warner/Comcast.  So, please bring me up to date.  I live in San Diego County and have impatiently been waiting for Time-Warner to begin operating the "Adelphia" network in this area.

Insofar as problems with "Adelphia" are concerned, I had extreme problems with their service after signing up a little more than a year ago.  After that couple-month, rough patch, things have been very good for me.  I've also noticed complaints about "Adelphia" have almost disappeared from this thread.

I'm pretty sure TW and CC are supposed to start "controlling" So Cal Adelphia networks by June or July.  It was actually supposed to be May, but Adelphia had last minute problems with investors and, of course, their debt.  I too am supposed to be getting TW, and am eager to find out if things get worse, stay the same, or better.  Have had Adelphia HSI for about 1yr 7mths and like jelwell, had some problems right after signing up for the service.  However, now the net is stable and consistently get above advertised speeds.

It'd be cool if Adelphia upgraded my area to Extreme, but it won't happen.  Like I've stated in a few other posts, no competition.  The Half: do you even know if FiOS will be coming to your area in the future?  I just don't want you getting your hopes up  Confused

I read in article that was in our Sunday's paper not to long ago that Adelphia completed a final phase upgrading their infrastructure and within that same article Verizon was mentioned and how they are lying down fibre cable. Click on the link below.

Welcome to testmy karmakazi, you may want to try one of cablenuts settings for the powerlink package you have...and by the way which Adelphia Powerlink package do you have?
