I keep getting disconnected like 50 times a day, it’s really annoying.
Can someone help me? My modem/router is Westell Model 327W.
Also, I'm not a computer person so can someone help me define what a PADT is and what everything else is?
Whats a PADT and whos sending it and is that the cause of my frequent disconnections?
Thanks in advanced!! Very Happy

uhmm its only whole black box thing. It says on the box that it is a Westell Model VersaLink 327W. I'm guessing it's a DSL and router together.

Yes it is a DSL and router together, I have one myself. hmmmmm, I am not sure what to tell ya. I guess you could call Verizon, but there might be somthing better you can do. I used to use PPPOE myself, but recently the CO switched to DHCP or somthing, so i dont have to use the PPPoE anymore

the padt command is something that either your modem or the dslam (their kit in the swirtch) can send. it completely terminates the ppp session, as seen in the log. you have two of those disconnects in the log you posted, interestingly enough one of them occurs out of the blue while the other occurs /after/ the coomunication with the dns times out. definitely a call to verizon, tell them or offer to email them even that log or a similar one, and as always on an initial call, don't get your panties in a wad, they will in all likelyhood be willing to help, so make their job easier by being friendly to them. (personally i hate people getting all prissy like they own the world when requesting some form of service and the more they bitch the less i feel like helping or the more i give the runaround.)
